ROC Ter AA is a Regional Training Centre with establishments in Helmond and in a number of places in the region. It offers a variety of courses.
Objective
ROC Ter AA is a progressive Regional Training Centre for vocational and adult education, where staff and teachers devote themselves to the education of their students, in such way that these students become of greater value to the labourmarket and higher education in general.
FOCUS on student
ROC Ter AA places great focus on the individual student. This means customized courses, thorough counseling, and training in such way that the student ‘gets what he/ she wants out of it’. In other words a sound education, which also includes a good learning environment, pleasant classrooms, many practical training rooms and Open Learning Centres that are well-equipped with state-of-the-art technology. Well-trained and highly motivated teachers, together with thorough student guidance also form part of this.
WEB: Adult and Vocational Education Act
In accordance with the above mentioned Act, secondary vocational education is divided into four levels of training.
The new structure corresponds to the European SEDOC classification. Each accredited vocational course has a so-called CREBO number. It is listed in the Central Register of Vocational Courses and approved by the Minister of Education.
Level 1: Training to assistant level (Student trained to do elementary operational work)
Level 2: Basic vocational training (Student trained to do operational work)
Level 3: Professional training (Student is able to work independently)
Level 4: Middle-management training and specialist training (Student trained to function fully independently and to work at an advanced level)
There are two learning pathways at each level:
Vocational training (BOL) consisting of practical training taking up between 20% and 60% of the course. (Also called non-dual track).
Block or day release (BBL) (apprenticeship training) with practical training taking up at least 60% of the course. (Also called dual track)
Adult Education also has various levels:
Courses aimed at fostering self-reliance (training for assistant level)
Courses providing a broad basic education (training for basic vocational training)
Starter’s Qualification 2: HAVO (senior general secondary education)
Pre-university Qualification: VWO (pre-university education)
Organization of the College
ROC Ter AA is a Regional Training Centre (ROC) for secondary vocational and adult education. 5000 students are enrolled for training courses in the departments of Business and Administration, Technique and Technology, People and Society or Education and Career Centre.
The college has 420 people in its employ. Classes run from Monday to Friday (five days a week) consisting of daytime and evening classes.
Business and Administration
The department of Business and Administration offers thorough education in marketing, business and administration.
Technique and Technology
The department of Technique and Technology offers courses and training in:
Construction, Mechanical engineering, Electrical engineering, ICT, Industrial automation, Mechatronics, Installation technique, Control technique, Textile technique and Process technique.
People and Society
The department of People and Society offers thorough education in Health Care, Social Care, Nursing, Education Assistant and Security. An important basic principle of the training courses is that students receive a broad-based education.
Adult Education and Career Centre
Adult Education.
The department of Adult Education provides all educational courses varying from literacy education to pre-university education for adults.

- Dutch as a foreign language
- Adult Education
Basic Vocational Education provides educational courses on level 1 (assistant level) of the Qualification Structure of Vocational Education (QSB). Furthermore it supports and provides preparatory and supplementary services for the QSB levels 1 - 4, for example (educational) career counseling.

Student Services
Student Services is the place to go for people wanting to do a course at ROC Ter AA. They also keep record of all academic progress once students have commenced a course.
Student Services are there for information and any help students may require in regards to their study.
